Training There are regular training days to improve the horsemanship and skills of the troop members. Training days are held on the second Saturday of each month and at other mutually acceptable times to suit troop members

Training is designed to equip Troopers and their horses to be able to participate in a variety of events and circumstances:

  • Street Parades in the company of brass and pipe bands
  • Displays of drill in formation.
  • Exhibitions of musical rides to military music.
  • Agricultural shows
  • To remain calm in the face of unusual items and noises.
  • The ability to carry a flag
  • The ability to work with other horses carrying flags.
  • To acquire the rider & horsemanship skills for “Skill at Arms”
