Light Horse line up at Tamworth

What a great weekend. Here it is Monday night and I can't believe that last Tuesday 17th instant I was heading towards Tamworth for our training days and not knowing what the outcome would be.

I have been in contact with the Premier's department and have again spoken to the Governor's driver who told me that the Gov. was completely overwhelmed with the reception and the display that was put on by the Light Horse. She made special comment of the women turned out for the flag guard and was delighted that we could spend time with her talking to the Mudgereeba escort and the flag party.

There is talk that she may be sending a letter of appreciation for the effort that was put in by our troop.

The Council and AELEC as you would well expect are completely satisfied with the night and they will be sending us DVDs and certificates for the performance. They estimate through ticket sales, freebies and participants that there were more than 4500 people in the arena that night.

So all in all everybody is more than happy with the performance that everybody gave in the Light Horse this past week.

 And so they should be!!

Up at 6am every morning, riding all day and going to bed at 1.30am, for most of us, that meant 18 hour days.

I have attached a photo taken by the photographer, Keiron Power, which tells it all.

If anyone would like to get more photographs from him, you will find him as Keiron Power, Denva Road, Taree, NSW, 2430. ph. 02 6551 2331 or email keironpower@bordernet.com.au or click here to go to his web site

He has taken 2600 photos and a lot of these were taken in the saddling, stabling and training areas on the Friday and Saturday.
