Horses

  • All horses will be of a satisfactory remount type and troopers are expected to present their mounts in good condition, without injury, ailments or other disorders that might cause distress or discomfort.
  • Minimum height of 14.2 hands maximum height 16 hands.
  • Horses may be ridden with or without shoes, but in all cases the shoes and hooves must be in a suitable condition for the event.  Unshod horses will be accepted with the understanding that they may not be permitted to participate in all events
  • Full colours are preferred - Black, Brown, Bay, Chestnut.  Grey horses will be accepted with the understanding that they may not be permitted to participate in all events.
  • Stallions may be accepted with the understanding that they may not be permitted to participate in all events.
  • Horses should be presented to a manageable standard, as set by the majority of members present. Any horse that exhibits signs of severe nervousness, aggravation or of bad temperament may not be permitted to take part in a Troop activity.
