Dress & Equipment
As far as possible, there will be a constant endeavour to have one standard of dress and equipment portraying the AIF WW1 and a minimum requirement will be determined by the Troop Commander on the day for Parade and Display purposes. During public displays and events, we will wear the uniform of the Australian Light Horse, A.I.F. 1914-1918 period. During training civilian riding dress and an Australian Standard riding helmet will be worn.
Whilst the members of The Australian Light Horse Association are not members of the Armed Services, standards are provided to ensure that the uniforms and equipment are used and worn in a manner which reflects credit on the wearers and more importantly, provides an accurate and respectful portrayal of the Light Horse to the general public
The following links to the Australian Light Horse Association site explain why standards are followed and provide pictorials of the dress and equipment.
